I have been on here for a while so I decide I could make me a build thread. I have a 1994 ford ranger 4.0l v6 equipped with a 5 speed transmission and 4WD. This is my first truck I have bought and got it for $2 grand. I worked my butt off for this truck and having this truvk makes me feel like I am the true owner of this beast. I had it for a year so far. It's not in the greatest condition ever, but it gets me from point A to point B with no problems. I really like this truck, especially when I go off roading out in the hills. There were some problems that I ran into when I drove it home. I knew I had to fix those problems ASAP. Enjoy!

The good when I first got it:
4.0l
136k miles
New tires
No cracks or tears in the seats
5 speed transmission
Electric 4WD with manual locking hubs
Toolbox
New bed linder
Resse hitch
Rebuilt front end
Manual locks and windows

The bad when I first got it:
Cracked and worned out manual locking hubs
Bad clutch and slave cylinder
Cracked taillight
Dents and scratches
Bad flasher relay
Worned out wheel bearings
Bad wiper blades
Missing rear view mirror
Worn out brake pads
None working cruise control
Out dated stereo
Clear coat peeling
No alignment
Bad speakers

Those were all the things when I first got it. It was pretty beat up. During the last year, I have fixed up some of things on it.

The things I fixed:
New taillight
New wheel bearings
New warn manual locking hubs
New clutch
New slave cylinder
New flywheel
New flasher relay
New hankook Dynapro ATM's
New rear view mirror
New Kenwood stereo
Repainted the cross member and skid plate
New wiper blades

Things that should be replaced:
New shocks
New leaf springs
New coil springs
New alignment
New windshield
Fix A/C lines
New paint job
Fix up dents
Fix exhaust leak
New ball joints
New U-joints

When I fist got the truck, it was bone stock. There was nothing aftermarket on this truck other than a stereo. I have added some stuff to it and More stuff to come!

What mods I have right now:
Custom K&N cold air intake
Cab lights
Kenwood stereo
Some browning stickers
Warn Manual locking hubs
Mossy oak interior
Switch to my cab lights
Clevis hitch

Mods I want to add to it later on in the future:
15 inch American racing Baja wheels
31 inch goodyear duratracs
New paint job
Leveling kit or 2 inch lift from skyjacker
MBRP or flowmaster exhaust system
New headers
MBRP catalytic converter
07+ mirrors
07+ emblems
Pilar gauges
Transmission temperature gauge
Voltage gauge
Bucket seats
Kenwood speakers
New shocks from Skyjacker
New leaf springs from Skyjacker
Custom front bumper
Custom rear bumper

I will see If I could put some pictures up. I'm using a crappy computer now, so best of luck to me if could get some up.

When I first got it

I have added a few things to it

New Kenwood stereo

Made me a homemade cold air intake

What My truck looks like now

Nice

I have a '94 4.0l, XLT, 4x4, 5-speed, but in Red, like it a lot, but I use it for a work truck so just stock to the bone.

Yep looks that way. Some sweet ass 500mph tape on there too.

Looks like a good start.

It's a K&N. To be honest, it works pretty darn good. I have noticed a slight increase of power and MPG so I like it.

Installed New manual locking hubs. They aren't the jeep strong ones, but they will do it! Best manual locking hubs ever!

Did a little muddin to test them out. Success!

Back in February, I had a bad clutch, slave cylinder, and flywheel. When It got to the point when I couldn't get it to shift gears, I thought it was time to replace a few things on it.
Here are some pictures of the process of the new clutch and slave cylinder:
Started out putting it on jack stands and taking out the shifter

Took out the driveshaft

A very dirty transmission

What a mess

Finally got the transmission all cleaned up!

New slave cylinder is in!

Old clutch to the left and the new one on the right

New clutch is in!

Finally finished after 3 weeks of working on it after school

It was a new experience doing this and I learned a lot from it! I couldn't do it without a friend tho! I am blessed to have a family friend there to help me through all of this!

Update: I painted the inside of my toolbox early this week. Here are some pictures of the process:
I prepped the inside of it first. Cleaned it up and ready for paint.

What is wrong in this picture?? lol

Painted my tool holder

John Deere green spray paint I used on the tool holder, hydraulic pump, and hooks

And let the process begin...

Painted the hooks

Painted the pumps

Here is the finished product!

UPDATE: Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. I have been working a lot this summer, but I did have a few days off and did a few things to the ranger. First off, I put in some wooden organizers in the toolbox to keep everything well organized.

Than I painted the cover, intake tube, and air box. I painted the cover and air box john Deere green and painted the intake tube black.

I will also be installing lights on my toolbox sometime. just waiting for my lights to come in. I already have the wiring all set up along with a switch connected to it. Here are the lights i'm gonna use.

What happened to the cold air intake? And you should use red lights on the back of the toolbox and not amber. Most states only allow red facing backwards and only amber front and sides.
