Pathetic question I know,

What I though was the factory amp turned out to be my 4x4 controll module....go figure...But anyway I can't seem to find the factory amp, Im trying to install a new kenwood CD deck.

So in case this helps, its a 94, 4.0L, V6 ext cab.

thanks

Actually... It depends on the factory set-up your truck originally had. My '94 came with the "premium sound" package (in dash cd, "upgraded speakers", hahaha). My factory amp was located on the passenger side of the cab behind the kick panel. I would definitely suggest taking it out if you are up to it. If I remember correctly, the factory amp is only rated at like 14x4 or something weak like that.

sdlucky nailed it. trucks with the premium sound option came with a puny little amp right from the factory.

it makes a dandy paper weight.
