Choosing a Trans for 302 swap

I have an 85 b2 with I believe to be a tk Trans and the 1350 tc I am going to do a 302 swap I am trying to decide if I should keep original Trans get a standard from an f150 or bronco or go with a c4 looking for feed back

First, read the articles in the technical articles section about engine swaps. They cover all the trans options. Your original transmission will NOT bolt up to the 302.

My credo
If you ain't first you're last
Get an f150 v6 trans from a 97-02 if you're going 5 speed, from what I've read they fit best out of the 5 speed 4x4 options and are the same bolt pattern (3.8/4.2 are a 302 with 2 cylinders cut off). If you're going auto I'd say stray away from the explorer tranny they fit better yes but their transfer case is AWD. Idk if you can put a part time tcase in, if you can get an explorer trans.

If you're going 2wd get a T5
