2001 ranger edge 3.0 4wd .
I had a heater valve burst which I replaced but during the activity of the leak it seemed I noticed it was running rough. I fixed the leaky valve which is directly above the coil pack where coolant ran all over it. I suspected a bad or wet plug wire and pulled them off one at a time to check for spark and found one port was not sending out any spark. I switched wires with another plug to eliminate it being a plug wire and the sam port same problem. It looks clean inside of the port and as added measure I blew it out with a compressor to make sure it was dry. So are those packs sealed? If so would that be the problem by coincidence? Fyi, I recently replaced the cam sensor without issue.

Thanks in advance!

Shorting plug wire could have effected the coil, so being wet on the inside wasn't the problem, the sparking to an adjacent coil or being sparked by adjacent coil from being wet on the outside could have been the problem.

Early 2000's 3.0l coil packs were from a "bad batch" there was a TSB about changing the coils in the case of misfires, sorry couldn't locate that TSB

Ditto, without the follow-up, the lessons are lost. :icon_thumby:
