My setup is simpler then duraspark, it's HEI. One wire and I'm good.

You want an OD trans to help get better mileage, unless you aren't too worried about it.

First off sorry for not keeping this thread up and thanks for all the info you guys have supplyed me with so far.

I finally have got an engine an transmission. It is a 1994 f150 5.0 with an aode. I've been doing a lot of reading on the wiring and from what I have gathered is that an 89 f150 ecu is the easiest for an efi swap as its very similar to the 2.9 ecu. I was wondering if a 94 ecu will work similar to the 89 ecu.

You will need to change the intake since the f150 intake is to tall to fit under the hood of a ranger.

I cant remember if those are HO engines or not. If not the non ho computer should hook to the 2.9 wiring harness and you just need to splice in two injectors into the harness too.

I'm also not sure if those transmissions are computer controlled or not.

Yeah the transmission is computer controlled. The engine isn't h.o and it's MAF instead of speed density. So I'm not sure how straight forward the wiring would be.
