Cool project! Got to love boost!

It is essential to lower timing and add fuel to prevent predetonation on a boosted application. You also do not want to go to all the work you are doing and not get the most out of it.

Please check-out Tweecer.com You can get a unit to DIY tune or get a chip burnt for you application. I have used a Tweecer RT to tune a supercharged 302, 351, 393 and now my 4.0 SOHC. You can get a basic driveway tune, based on your engine components and how much boost you are going to run.

An FMU or timing boxes are band aids compared to what you can do with a real tuner.
Not to derail this thread but that is EXACTLY what I've been looking for to turbo my 4.0. Only other options were a microsquirt or megasquirt but those entail redoing the wiring harness. Sweet build. Good to see someone else doing forced induction on a 4.0.

Thanks man, I'll actually have two builds on my4.0's on this thread as well, the 2.3 turbo thread died out and I lost my pictures so it just stopped..2-3 years ago

@blown, considering the price of the tweecer I've been considering going with the PIMP from stinger performance, it's $500 more but has a lot of options with it as well

Picked up a old Paxton kit for my other truck today

And I got my fuel rail done! Capped the old fuel inlet and outlets, drilled holes and welded -6an fittings to the front custom fuel lines will be soon ish

I installed the supercharger today! Just the little Paxton tho haha, so I made a super short install guide for it, as follows.

First step is to relocate the coolant and washer fluid reservoir(this works okay but it'll need moved later)

Next is to pull the bolts from the ac compressor.

And loosen the 17mm bolt on the front of the power steering pump

Now the most difficult part of this install is finding m8- 1.25 bolts that are 140-150mm long, luckily I had some in my reserves from something ages ago.

After that you just install the bracket in the power steering bracket and on top of the ac compressor, install the cac hose and intake hose, I forgot those pictures but here ya go.

Automatic
NOW YOU HAVE BLOWN IT!!! :icon_twisted:

Your computer/EECIV is an A1S and uses the Strategy Zot1 for tuning.

I fired you off an email.

Well the yellow was pretty worn off so I decided a little oval blue will help it out

Next major thing to do is cut and rotate the thermostat housing, the fuel lines run in the way of the coolant temperature sender for the gauges.
I'm going to relocate the sender into the water neck and extend the wire for it.
heres how the fuel lines sit under the blower

Have my 3.5" pulley, just need to install, and button up a few loose ends and it'll be on and hopefully running
