Having some hard timing finding a solid answer to a few questions. I had white smoke from exhaust with no overheating at first. Then temp rose to about 3/4 7/8 from red line. Drained oil and coolant, flushed coolant. No mixing in either fluid, coolant was dirty. Refilled, ran around the block, overheated again. Milky dip stick. Tells me blown head gasket.
1) for my own knowledge in the future can I get the above symptoms from the intake gasket leaking coolant?
2) do I torque my head first then intake, or both at the same time? Ive seen mixed comments on this and wondering why.
3) RTV black came with gaskets - I've read to use around the coolant passages...intake and head or where?
4) also read to put RTV on four corners of head gasket - i believe this was just to hold in place, but i have locating dowels.
