Hello everybody! Go to the rockauto.com, looking at the applicability vacuum booster from my 91 Explorer, it was put on:

Bronco II 87-90
Ranger 87-94
F-250 87-89
F-350 87-89

Then watch 89 F-350, it has the same vacuum booster and a hydraulic booster that appropriate for:

E-150/250/350 88-89
F-Super Duty 88-97
F-350 90-97

Question: Is it right that I can bolt-on swap on my 91 Explorer hydraulic booster for example from 97 F-350?

Yes, it will bolt on.

Hydro-boost is used for diesels because vacuum assist would require a vacuum pump.
Racing gas engines can have very little vacuum, but better option is electric vacuum pump.
Hydro-boost requires a power steering pump which uses horsepower.

Vacuum boost(assist) uses no power on a regular gas engine, since vacuum is present pretty much all the time.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
i use the gm hydroboost on mine.

because i run a gm steering pump.

you can adapt whatever system you want.

And I think so, but I did not find in the Internet reporting on installing a hydro booster on the Explorer / Bronco II/ Ranger. I could not believe that nobody has done this. I find an information in full-size Bronco's forum, that when installing the hydro booster on the big Bronco and F-series is necessary to put pushrod and the brake pedal from the truck with hydraulic booster. I think it would be required in our mid-sizes too

Oh, I will swap Saginaw pump soon too))) Has the GM boosters the same bolt pattern on firewall like Ford's? And what kind of master cylinder did you put on your booster, GM or Ford?

I used a 99 Super Duty Hydroboost unit, 94 F350 master, homemade bracket at the firewall, and a custom length push rod out of the hydroboost unit. I modified 89ish F-SuperDuty pressure lines and used a Frankenstein Saginaw pump.
