Would this be a decent setup for a DD and occasional trail. Not crawling.

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/2221387820.html
kinda pricey for my neck of the woods. I payed $75 for a stock 97 ex's 8.8, granted- i did have to regear and it was open not a trac loc.

but $250- idk. pull a part's are about $100 and you can get 4.10's disc brake LSD if you're lucky.

now if you're ok with the price, then yeah it'll be a good set up for dd and trail unless you want 4.10's

if you're upullit is that much then heck, why not i guess... but still seems steep to me. dang i'd choke paying that much for a rear axle that's basically stock. maybe search some more for a cheaper one??? idk..

would the 3.73 match your front? are you planning on staying 3.73's?

hey this is commifornia, everything is $$$ here:annoyed: I would really like to go to 4:56s. but i think that 4:10s would be ok.
Ya im currently running stock 3:73s. if i go to 33s on the tires, I think the trany would like 4:56 more.

Have you tried the Ford dismantler out in Rancho Cordova? They should be able to hook you up with a 8.8 with disc/LS/4.10. Or if you want a hand finding/pulling one out of Pick-N-Pull hit me up. I'll come help you.:icon_thumby:
Also it is cheaper to find a axle with the gears you want then it is to regear them.
$200 is the going price on axles around here. Might find them a little cheaper in Reno, if you don't mind a little drive. Hell I drove down to Merced to pick up my axles.

I talked to them awhile ago about a 94 d35, they quoted me 250.00 at that time. But that included ALL the hardware. I was going to call them and see what a 8.8 and 35 would be.
The pick and pull wants 279.00 for the front, and 184.00 for the rear. As per their price list.

i dont know about the drive to Reno. right now its a 6 hr drive from placerville to truckee. :icon_surprised: but snow melts.

As for the offer to help me. that would rock. I would like to get to know someone else around the area that runs the b2 and know what the heck they are doing. I have had a couple of people offer to help me before, but they have flaked out. :dunno:
