kinda pricey for my neck of the woods. I payed $75 for a stock 97 ex's 8.8, granted- i did have to regear and it was open not a trac loc.

Heh heh I lived in Rancho Cordova for a bit when I was a kid.Have you tried the Ford dismantler out in Rancho Cordova? They should be able to hook you up with a 8.8 with disc/LS/4.10. Or if you want a hand finding/pulling one out of Pick-N-Pull hit me up. I'll come help you.
Also it is cheaper to find a axle with the gears you want then it is to regear them.
$200 is the going price on axles around here. Might find them a little cheaper in Reno, if you don't mind a little drive. Hell I drove down to Merced to pick up my axles.

I talked to them awhile ago about a 94 d35, they quoted me 250.00 at that time. But that included ALL the hardware.
