valve noises

on my 86 2.9 i have a problem that after i drive it about 10-15 min a valve will start ticking really loud after it cools down its good again any ideas? motor set for 3 years before i got it ..and has good oil pressure

All I can tell you is that mine does the same thing. I seafoamed it, that quieted it down noticeably. I have read some posts on here about some who have used Rotella and it went away.
If you search the forums for this topic you will have enough to read for days. Apparently its somewhat common.

It seems to be extremely common, every B2 ive owned has had valve noise.

rotella oil does seem to help.. it's a good oil to. we run it in everything we own.

seafoam does help but is kinda iffy for some people.

but i do notice a small oil pressure drop when it warms up? possible sludge in oil passages?

Google an internet only product called autorx. I've read only good things about it and read a lot of reviews with pics after every stage. Also try to set the valve lash that will help too. My oil pressure drops a little after its warm, it ticks a little but setting the valves helped alot

Seafoam in the crank case, then try running like half a bottle of lucas. If that doesnt stop it then go to adjusting the lash. and if it still ticks your gonna need new lifters to quiet it down.
