In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Did you order a few?

If you're not making mistakes, you're not learning.
I thought it was going to be bigger. But according to what I've read, it's pretty much the same length as a later extended cab, and only a few inches wider, like 3 or 4 overall. Cool that they kept the size down. It sounds like a sweet truck from what's been released so far.

I hope they at least made the wheel wells wide enough you can get a sheet of plywood in between them.

Ford now sees the Ranger buyer as different from the F-150 buyer. The Ranger owner is an urban dweller who drives his truck to work—not for work—and uses it to play on the weekend with his toys in the bed in back. It is not about affordability but more about size, scale, and fuel efficiency, says Eckert. Nor is it about chasing the competition. Expect former Ranger owners, new customers, and even F-150 owners who want to downsize gravitate to a truck that is easier to drive, park, and fit in the garage.
Well I am glad that after 35 years they finally figured us out.

Maybe would have liked a turbo diesel, but hey as long as it gets the gas mileage.

I haven't seen the fuel economy projections but I would imagine there is plenty of power there...it is the duratech 2.3 so it would have started out with 140 HP in the regular engine...probably closer to 200 with the turbo...haven't seen the numbers on that yet either.

Mark, this is the ecoboost engine used in the Explorer and Mustang. Depending on trim, it makes roughly 300 hp and 300 torque. Definitely no slouch.

Cool, thanks! I knew it was the newer engine but didn't know they'd already outfitted the turbo...and 300 HP is way more than I would imagine...

Houston...we have lift off... :icon_rofl:

If we ever see the 3.5 in a Ranger it will be complete insanity. It's producing 375 in normal f150 configuration, 450 in the raptor.

it is easier to fix and understand than "her"

and the jeep p/u getting a diesel....

I don't think it will be a one engine wonder for long. if at all.

No, it is not the same 2.3 as in the Mustang or Focus RS, but the same as you can get with the Explorer max tow package, 280 HP 320 TQ.
