I am having a hard time find the correct factory part number for the rear sway bar bracket on a 2002 FX4 level II. Spoken to several dealer parts departments and they are polite but do not have any idea about what is on the FX4 Level II, they all give me the number for the smaller 3" axle not the 3.25" axle. I have the smaller bracket and I can force it on, but I would like to find out if there was a larger bracket from the factory. At this point I am not sure if there ever was a larger sway bracket, anyone with an FX4 Level II 31-spline 3.25" axle that can confirm what the bracket part number is on your truck from the factory?

Normally the VIN would work but I am upgrading to the larger rear axle and don't have the donor trucks VIN. My VIN would just trace back to the smaller sway bar bracket which came with my truck. Just need some one with a factory installed larger axle to confirm what is on their truck.

The 2002 FX4 did not come with a rear sway bar. I don't think any of the later Level II models did either but I am not positive on that.

Try Helliwig. They're the biggest manufacturer of aftermarket sway bars to date. That might be what you have.

That, or it's an explorer sway bar since the axle tube's are 3.25"

It is almost comical, my local dealer is pretty much helpless without a VIN... :icon_rofl:

You would think that the Ford parts counter would know about the different options on their cars/trucks. Even if the counter person doesn't know, the computer should show the various possible applications. Guess I'll just have crawl under a truck with the larger brackets, if I could find one!

I don't know how they would differ but Explorers and F-150s came with the 31 spline 8.8 too.

I would look under an Explorer only, the swaybars on the fullsize trucks would be too wide

Brackets may be the same though.

Explorers have wider frames so the sway bars on them would probably be wider anyway.
