I did a half-assed search and didn't really find anything. I know a few of you have done this and there is something on here, but I cant find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Maybe something to add to the tech library?

No I'm looking for someone who cut the B2 liftgate in half and replaced the lower with a ranger tailgate, to make a split hatch.

Someone said there was a thread on broncoii.org, but I haven't seen it. I was wanting to do it too. But I found a hatch with a glass that;ll open.

My idea was to cut the inside of the bed where the tailgate latches to and insert it in the B2, so I could have all the mounts and such. Then cut the hatch at the body line and see where to go from there.

Haven't done much research on it since I got my new Hatch.

Good luck with it and take lots of pic's

Yes there is a guy that posted on Bronco ll.org. I started this but haven't finished it yet. you need to get the straight'est tail gate you can find . Mine has a bend right in the middle so it dosen't seal well.

I know you'll think I'm crazy, but I think the power sliding rear window that most of the station wagons used would be cool. Now that would be a fabbing project.

I did it onto the 1985 bII i had 8 years ago. no pics from then but i just got a ranger gate and all of the hardware/hinges, drilled the door-jam and bolted them on, cut the bottom of the hatch off where it overlapped the tailgate a few inches, then riveted a 1" wide 1/4" thick flat bar across the bottom and then stuck weather strip to the bar. i didn't do any kind of latch because with no struts and the weight of the hatch and the steel bar it just rested against the gate under its own weight. it opened slightly if i went up a really steep hill though, but i was 16 and it worked fine
