found a cheap 90 b2. With automatic 4x4 and tranny. I want the d35 out of it.

My 88 b2 is Automatic 4x4 and tranny.

Will the drive shaft off the 90 fit correctly. I thought i read since they both are auto everywhere the shaft will alreay be the right one.

Thanks

Yes,the back one will, I believe the front one will if its a 1350 t case, if its a 1354 it'll be different. Look in the tech library to id these parts.

If its got the d35, it'll probably have the 1354 fixed yoke t case. Your truck should have the 1350 w a slip yoke. I'd trade t cases out.

would the transfer case swap out with no trouble.

What about the rear shaft. Are they the same?

First off, the 90 will have the 1354 t-case so to use the front drive shaft you'll have to swap t-cases and that is no issue, they bolt right up in place of each other. The rear drive shafts are the same length and bolt up no issue as well. Also the 90 should have a double cardon shaft rather than the CV style, way better. I just got the drive line of my 88 back together and right now it consists of the factory D28, front double cardone shaft (no mods needed), 1354 T-case, tranny and 4.0 from a 92 Explorer and rear double cardon sgaft from a 90 BII. Also the D35 used in the BIIs are sized for the BII so they will not widen your front axle width. I have the D35 from the 92 explorer to go into my 88 and the D35 from the 90 BII to go in my 87 and they are different widths. Hope this helps!
