my '94 ranger has had a issue from the time ive bought it. (got it in july) the wipers will only work on high speed and will not "park", wherever you shut them off in their cycle is where they stop. ive already changed the switch (mainly due to the high/low function for the headlights) and im guessing its the motor, i can hear a click somewhere with engine off if i try to turn wipers on. ive heard there is some sort of wiper module but havent been able to find it. when i went to the junkyard in search of a wiper motor, i couldnt find a ranger older than a '97, my 94 wiper motor has a pigtail harness coming from the motor then a plug, everything i found in the junkyard has just a plug connection on the wiper motor itself....so, is there a way to use the newer motor on the older setup? and is it really a motor problem or this module ive read about here and there? the junkyard wants 20 for a used motor and its about 50 for a new wiper motor (with core) ironically my 97 that rolled had the very same issue, i noticed when i tried to use the multi-function switch from it that it was diffrent also.

solved!- the wiper control module had a solder joint that needed fixed, put a iron to it with a drop of solder and its all good now, they absolutly buried that thing under the dash, and i did replace the wiper motor anyhow before finding out it was a module issue, and somehow in the process of things my linkage is off, wipers want to run the wrong way, park at top of winsheild and go down than up, so my linkage at the motor must be 180 off, i know it turned the shaft when i took off the nut, i couldnt turn shaft of new motor with a wrench and didnt want to break anything, i figured i could just pull off wiper arms and put back on in the lowered postion with motor in "park", well- no... as ive run out of daylight i guess i will get back on it tomorrow. will be nice now to have more than high speed only, and have wipers that shut off in lowered postion.
