Has anyone used front bumpers from other vehicles on their Ranger?
Any ideas of what fits with little modification?

I want a new bumper and I can build one if necessary. My new tires (35x12.50) may interfere with the side portions of my OEM bumper (1993). But I was wondering if there are bumpers from other vehicles that might work or at least serve as a basis for designing one instead of starting from scratch. I've seen some newer Jeep bumpers that look somewhat like what I want. But I don't know how their mounting points line up or how they compare in overall width. Same with a H3.

Any info around here? or do I just need to spend time at the junk yard with a tape measure? not many jeeps in my local junk yards.

I have heard more than once people adapting Jeep Cherokee XJ bumpers to Rangers. These are probably your closest bet. They still don't bolt right on though, you'll need to modify the mounts a bit (a welder helps), but the bumper itself is right about the correct width.

Can anyone tell me what years of Rangers front bumpers will fit my 2000 Ford Ranger Ex-tended cab XLT 2.5L 5speed manual 2WD..? I've become so confused because I've been given so many different answers that I'm not sure I could make a decision on buying one at this point... Can someone please shed some light on this for me...?

I don't know.

I did finally confirm that at least some Jeep bumpers are easy to adapt.

Yes, it will.

From 1998-2011 the front bumper mounts are pretty close to the same, you may have to fine tune the fitment with a washer or two but its a bolt-on. If you do a search, you'll find that several members have done whole front clip swaps on the same year truck as yours.

Anyone have a picture of a jeep bumper on a ranger? this sounds interesting? there are tons of old jeeps in local junk yards around me so I could probably find on cheap. My bumper is getting holes in it pretty bad.

I like the bumper. was that intended for a jeep or a ranger? I already have a bull guard on mine so not sure what I would get but my bumper is pretty holy. I don't get why the rust got the bumpers so bad compared to the rest of the truck.

I got that off Craigslist and was told it was a Jeep bumper or aftermarket Jeep bumper. I just welded in some new brackets and strengthened it a bit. I think I have $100 total in it. There may be more details in my build thread.

My OEM bumper is available. But shipping to you might be expensive. It's just painted black with the non-fog light style balance. Being a southern truck, it doesn't have any appreciable rust.
