While doing some google searching I made a score; I found the motherload of 1997 Wiring diagrams. The ones for the ranger are here:

They are also mostly accurate for 1995 and 1996 models. Unless you have a 4.0 with an automatic, which is different (thank you 5r55e).
The index pages are made so that the whole web folders can be copied and the index used to identify the .pdf's. I did this and made a .zip of it, which is available HERE.
IIRC there is a wiring diagram page where these might be good to post.
Hope this saves somebody the nightmare of trying to find good wiring diagrams (and these are good indeed, better than the 60% complete one in my Haynes manual).
