If it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Well after posting on ranger_steve's 'The unnamed" 07 FX4 future SAS' page I learned my FX4 axle might not be as great as I hoped and after checking the library (http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Ford-8_8-axle.shtml) I learned it isn't.
3" axle tubes and an axle tag that reads :4l10 as the ratio tells me its a 28 spline limited slip with 4.10 gears and thats all. But you know what? Its fine.
Sure the axle shafts are shared with the 7.5 axle and the 31 spline is heavier duty but for my needs bigger can wait.

Its got the bigger brakes, limited slip and 4.10's that Ford expected buyers to beat on some. Should be good to 33" tires or so.

I'm having a hard enough time piecing my junk together without getting hung up on not having the "sexiest" axle Ford put in a Ranger. Besides, it was $75.00. Hard to b!tch about that. Now to get it mounted below the box...

I agree! Pick n Pull had a half off sale between Xmas and New years. The bumper, tailgate and seats are also from that truck.
Er, this truck:

Yeah, way behind on a bunch of stuff. I owe the ole lady nearly 5 grand plus some credit card crap too. Debt sucks the fun out of life.

The Ranger can wait. I need a 4x4 pretty soon though so I might get a beater with a heater. Supposed to be a colder winter than usual here and the gf's car ain't gonna cut it, it needs a head gasket. Leaks coolant when its cold out.

I'll see if I can find a cheap Sploder or something. Cheap being relative. A big downside to "Pick a part" is they buy cheap vehicles year round so beaters aren't "cheap" anymore.

I'll probably just collect parts until I have everything or til spring hits now. Whichever comes first. :D

Damn I hate credit cards! They're nothing but a waste of money. I save up and pay cash for everything! There are times when they'd be handy but it's still gonna cost you extra. I try to keep at least $2,000 in the savings account for emergencies. I'm gonna try to get that up to $10,000 then start investing the rest so by time I retire I won't be pinching pennies.

I recommend getting Dave Ramsy's
Baby step book. He outlines a way to get out of debt and how to stay out of debt. I'm out of debt now, I'm trying to stay out and I'm trying to plan for the future because I can't stand being broke.

I'm with ya on these things. If I ever get another credit card it'll be a secured one, like a pay as ya go card. Life is weird sometimes and you need a proper credit card and thats the way to have one. Hard to order stuff online without one and Paypal is an outright scam.
The one credit card I owe on isn't all that much but its mostly interest so they won't do much with it except kill my credit rating. That needs to be dealt with.

I'm really liking the new job so far. Better money and more hours. :icon_thumby:

That sucks. Do you have an off season job or backup plan?
If it were me I'd have something on the back burner if I could.

Typically I go guide deer hunts in Ks and Neb. But the past couple years I've been taking training classes and trying to finish my AA degree.
