I ordered a 5" tachometer, that I'll mount down by the shifter, on the trans tunnel.

My truck came without a tach, but I wonder if all these trucks are prewired for a tach?

Can anyone tell me if they KNOW if the wire I need is behind my existing cluster already? If it is, I'd unpin it from the connector and run it to my new tach...I don't want to tap in to the wiring to the ECU.

On an '85 with 2.3l and TFI ignition system, you will need to run a wire to the "-" on the coil.
