I decided I was gonna do the Explorer seat swap in my 2010 Ranger today. Put the console in, set the seats up, and the airbag light is on. Makes sense, my 2010 seats have side airbags, and the explorers don't, and when I connect everything back up to the original seats the light goes out. So I aborted, took the explorer seats out, put the original seats in, and now I still have the airbag light on. Is there any way to read the airbag codes? The light doesn't flash, just comes on and stays on. I've checked and rechecked every connection, plug, and fuse. Please don't tell me I have to take it to the dealership to figure out the problem.

Honestly I don't even care about the side airbags, I'd much rather have the bucket seats. Does anyone know how to get the light to go off with the Explorer seats installed? I know others have had issues like this too, but if they resolved them they never posted back in the forum.

Pony,

Did you ever resolve your issue with the Airbag light?

I am in the same process as you with essentially the same issue.

Can't seem to find how people resolve it.

It would seem there is way to get at this electrically but I don't know what that is.

My airbag light is on again. It happened once before and I took it to the dealer. They said it was the keyswitch that had gone bad; the one that turns off the passenger airbag thats down by the ashtray?? They replaced it and the light went out. Its now back on, and Im searching to see if anyone has done the replacement themselves
