Hey guys, I just got a CB radio. I need help deciding where I should put the dang thing. I'm not going to drill any holes anywhere though, my interior is too nice. If it helps any, it's a 98 ext cab. I also need help on which fuse I should plug the power into, I know nothing about the fuse box lol.
Thanks in advance!

I like to hang them from under the dash when I can. Unless you can find an existing hole to put the bracket bolt in you are going to have to drill something somewhere to secure it though.

As for wiring I usually like to wire them to the radio power so that they don't stay on when the key is shut off. That way you don't forget and kill your battery. Most CBs come with their own in-line fuse, so making sure you tap a fused source isn't required.

I mounted a small CB radio in the dash above my radio after replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket single DIN unit. Worked out really good there. A bigger radio would probably have to be mounted under the dash or you would have to set up something to hold it on the transmission hump. I have a wood bracket thing for mounting a larger radio to the transmission hump that also has space for an external speaker, it came with a used radio I got at one point.

As far as power goes, I liked being able to have the CB on with the truck off, so I wired it hot, but as ASDM said, you can kill a battery if you forget about it. I always ran power off the battery back to the radio and used the inline fuse the radio comes with since I wire mine hot. If that's not what you want, splice into the radio power.

I took a piece of flat bar and used the screws for the sun visor and put mine above the mirror .

So the radio fuse is the 30 amp one right?

I've got another problem now, my drunk a** step dad, thinking he knows what he is doing, stuck his finger in my cig lighter and twisted it. It's in my dash now. How much does a new bezel cost?

That happened to mine naturally I just bought another with a lip/bezel to it and filled/sanded it lightly and pushed it into place and wired it up. Hasn't been a problem since. Cheaper than a bezel maybe. The lighter socket was like 5 bucks at AutoZone more or less.

And probably works better than the original. Highly recommended.
