I put in a new cb the other day and im getting tapping noises all the time on every channel. Its got a rythym to it and repeats the same pattern. I havent tuned the cb yet but im doing that on wed, could that be why? Or i installed a sub at the same time and ran the rca wires and auto on wire beside the antenna wire. Thats all i can think of but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Does it do it only when the engine is running? If so, you have a ground issue...maybe put a filter on the power line...like the old am radios used to have...

If it does it all the time maybe someone is practicing Morse Code in your area...

I think ive fixed it, got the radio tuned yesterday and the guy said it was probably just interference from the antenna being too long.

antenna too long dosnt sound like a likely problem. try grounding the hood with some braided flat cable. also, if you get ignition noise when going over bridges, ground the exhaust pipe, sounds strange, but the exhaust is hung with rubber brackets and makes a good antenna under the body.
