in Need of the Torque specs for a 2006 3.0L head bolts

is it 39 ft then back off 1 turn then 40 ft pounds then 90 degreese and 90 degrees??? had the heads redone with new hardened seats new exhaust valves and all the other head service just want to make sure I get then back on right .Any help would be great! :icon_thumby:

Yes, thats about right for 1999 and up Ranger 3.0l Vulcan engines that use TTY(torque to yield) head bolts
TTY bolts are NOT reusable, they are designed to stretch out which makes them hold better when engine is cold and warm

Although you torque to 35-39ft/lb
Then back off one turn
Then torque to 22-24ft/lb
Then do the 90deg
and 90deg again

So 5 steps

1998 and early did use regular head bolts, reusable, so didn't have the 90deg thing, but you could use TTY bolts on these older 3.0ls
