I could see that having it's advantages for someone who has to go no more than a couple of miles such as for farmers or on a large industrial complex, but it really should be illegal to use one on the highway. Even if the thing had electric brakes it still can't compare to the stopping power from your truck that you would be losing from loss of traction.

I think its not so bad. Could be drastically improved tho. Like the addition of either surge brakes or electric brakes added to the extra wheels.

I would rather build one and ad surge brakes to it. I would consider it safe then.

I agree with the poster that said they would get air bags.. I don't know what airbags go for but they cant be that much more than this hitch. As other say I could see it useful on a farm or maybe around town not going to far/fast but I would be scared of trying to drive it on the hwy.. Like wiked said it is really just a "band-aid"
