Looks good!

I've used this in the past to choose shocks by. Then plug the P/N into Summit Racings site, and they'll tell you what it fits, like my fronts which are 2005 F250 rear shocks, for a 4" lift.

I actually just guessed and poked around rockauto a little... actually it seems like the rear shocks for the same truck will work just fine for my rears... still have to fab up some brackets for the front before I can figure that out.

bolted up the front driveshaft today. looks like my axle ratios don't match. could have sworn I double checked that. oh well. happy labor day!

update! been busy with work, seasonal stuff for winter, whatever whatever.
got a new rear axle. found a (i thought) clean 4.10 explorer 31 spline locally. after getting it home discovered two broken plug welds at the housing and one side axle tube and shaft tweaked- banana shaped, in fact. why can't I just buy a good axle?!?

straightened the pig, fully welded the tube into the housing (7018), welded on new spring perches and shock mounts from ruffstuff, new axle seals and a junkyard axleshaft. new brake line, hoses, calipers and pads. needle-scaled, wire wheeled, primed and painted with gloss implement paint.

got the thing swapped out a couple weekends ago. my farm-grade axle straightening job seems to be sufficient. got the truck up to 45mph down the road the other day and no bad vibrations, clunks or wobbles.

I'm waiting on f250 shock mounts from Tasca, then need to measure for front shocks. After than I've got a couple small brackets and gussets I still need to fab. She's getting close boys!

a shot of the new and improved 31 spline 8.8 in it's home, with shocks!

shock towers welded in. temporary junk OEM shocks, they're way too short. For now they're fine. I couldn't help but get them all muddy before I thought to snap a photo.

Drove the old thing up on some stuff around the farm!

My front brake lines are just kind of... hanging. Next step is to make some tabs to nail them down, and re-mount my front sway bar.

Made some tabs to permanently nail down my brake line situation. Measured for proper front shocks today. Looks like I'll be able to use the same shocks on all four corners which is neat. (rancho rs5261)

which fuel pump

My gas gauge doesn't work- upon further inspection my sender appears to be whack. Looks like the factory fuel pump assembly. On rockauto, they list units for extended cab, and regular cab models. My truck being a regular cab long bed, which do I need? whats the difference?

Not much to report- last few weekends I've been doing maintenance stuff on the ranger. losing light fast this time of year, hard to get anything done after work.

replaced fuel pump and sender assy- gas gauge works now!

new fuel and air filters

6 new autolite double platinum plugs. one was broken, old gas in the cylinder. has my truck been running on 5 cylinders this whole time??

oil change. some nasty black old garbage was in there, don't know how long. nothing unusual, however.

some small things. rearranging brake lines, tied the rear brake line, abs wires, and vent hose into one bundle and routed under the bed.

those front full size springs ride like a turd. I know they're just leaf springs, but they are real bad. they were free.

my rear spring blocks measure 3.5" tall. they have the cast in-bump stops. they aren't stock are they?

If they have the cast-in bump stops, I would think they are original. There are different sizes, though. I got some along with spring plates and u-bolts from the junk yard recently. They came off a F150, 8.8" axle. When I got home, I found those to be shorter (less height) than the original ones for my '93 Ranger with 7.5" axle. I don't know if the difference has to do with axle model or vehicle model. I put my original blocks in with my lift kit, but if I need to adjust ride height at the end of the project, I'll swap them out.
