Heya fellas! It’s been a while!
After many many months of agony, I now have space and time to work on my little 2.3l 89 xlt super, and I’ve been looking at a way to get a sexier, throaty sound. Not just for kicks, but because I started a “flatbed ‘n stacks” ranger build and with zero muffler, a shizzton of engine noise, this thing sounds like a suped up monte with a reallllly shitty exhaust job. I need something that goes with the “stack” look, and right now, the truck is straightpiped and still we have guys in Crown Vic hoopties making 5+ times the noise I make. It’s not loud.

“So...For my question.Instead of spending that estimated $800,I think that I'll just buy an adapter and bolt a Holley 2bbl to my stock EFI Intake. The adapter can be seen here.”
This is a quote from a forum I was on when looking at efi to carb swaps. Please, since I’ve done practically everything but ignition work, what the hell is he talking about? Can you dumb it down to like... high school with 2 weeks in shop terms? Where does this thing go? What does it replace? What are the pros and cons? How much trouble is it going to be?
Thanks in advance!!

It goes on the lower intake so everything above that is removed

Picture of lower intake seen here with adapter: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-2-3L-2300cc-2-5L-race-HOLLEY-2bbl-carb-EFI-adapter-Mustang-PINTO-Mustang-GT-/252435871900

You also need to plug the fuel injector ports in the intake

Mustang forums will have more articles on this

EFI is more reliable and has better fuel economy than a carb
I assume you already switched to a vacuum advanced distributor since you will be removing the computer
