Been fighting putting a factory tach in my truck. I got it 5 years ago from a loaded '88. I always thought it was a V6 truck but the tach isn't acting like it. For the life of me I can't remember checking. With my converter module bypassed it reads 2x engine speed, with my 3/4 multiplier (to make a V6 tach read correctly with a V8) connected it is 1.5x engine speed.
If so any way to adapt it to V6 or tell which it is for sure?
Edit: They did make 4cyl tachs. So far I am 2 for 2 for 6cyl tachs reading like a 4cyl tach.
