2 pin plug ID?

The following two pics are regarding the same gray 2 pin plug. What's it supposed to hook to? As you can see, someone has covered the end with a red plastic cap. It's located behind the engine above the trans, and the white plug goes to the transmission.

I thought that looked like a 4.0L in your pic...

My '94 has that same plug (purple & orange wires, both with yellow stripe). There is nothing connected to it. :dunno:


Edit:
Found the plug on my diagrams... Shows it going to two A4LD shift solenoids. I guess mine dangles empty because I have the M5OD.

Yes, my '94 4.0l is a manual and has the same plug but factory cap still covering it, is it for automatic TCC and 3/4shift(OD) solenoids
