Hi guys. Was just wondering if anyone knew the towing rating on a 2000 ranger with a 3.0 and auto transmission. I have looked around with mixed results. I just want to know what is the maximum SAFE weight someone might suggest i pull. Looking for a travel trailer and dont want to get too big for my truck... Taks for any info guys.

Well the manual shows 4120 lbs for a 3.73 gear4060 lbs for a 4.10 - this for a 4x2 reg cab. Super cab 3.73, 3920 lbs. Manual shows about the same for 4x4. Know others will say they've hauled heaver.

Gear box = transmission. You don't care about the trans so much as the axle ratio.

I have an 03 Ranger with a 3.0L V6, 4:10 gear ratio. I tow a trailer that weighs about 1,000 lb load over a mountainous hwy with 8% grades. It handles perfectly fine. I feel that I could tow a lot more when on flat land.

You can pull a load which you think, you can and depends on the road you if it is a straight road then can go up to maximum and if you need to climb a mountain then it should be an average weight.
