Hey guys, been modding my truck to the way I want it the last 2 weeks I've had it, and I really want a tach, so I found one at a salvage yard!

Donor: 95' Gen Explorer, V6(I think)
Recipient: 95' Gen Ranger, I4 2.3L

I'm assuming my RPM's will be 33% less than proper?

I read that swapping a ground wire can change this on newer models, any ideas?
Also, my temp gauge doesn't seem top be working?

Welcome to TRS :)

Last picture is the anti-slosh modules, for gas tank level not related to tach.

1995 Explorer will be V6, V8 wasn't until '96, and explorer never used I4

But tach should just work, plug 'n play, RPM is not based on spark plugs or coil in 1995, signal comes from Crank Position Sensor(CKP) so 1 RPM is 1 RPM of the crank, I4 or V6 shouldn't matter
Wiring will be different so you need to rewire ranger instrument cluster plugs for Explorer cluster

Awesome news on the CPS! Yes, I tested it extensively today, everything is working, even the temp guage! It's calibration is a bit different than my factory cluster, but it seems to be moving appropriately :3

Also: I didn't have to rewire anything :D same 3 plugs, no mod required :)
