I have the 5.0, r2, and 8.8 rear end installed and slid the radiator in place to find out I have 1/2" clearance between the radiator and fan pulley. I have trimmed out the radiator support and moved the radiator all the way forward. I am now ua to 2 7/8". I guess my options are explorer 8501 water pump or pusher fan. I'm wondering if I use an explorer timing cover and shortpump if I can spacer the pulley.

SN95 FEAD uses the normal harmonic balancer... still gotta change the timing cover though. Explorer setup is nice for servicing though, everything is on top.

FWIW the pusher fan (flex a lite 118 or something like that) ran a lot. I swapped from the long pump to the Explorer belt system and a low pro flex fan and it helped a lot. Now the pusher only runs when the truck isn't moving.

I tried (and really wanted to run) the explorer fan with a clutch. The fan clutch dragged on the radiator as it was slid into place.
