Has anyone removed or rather replaced one of the triangle type vent windows found on certain Rangers and Bronco 2's? Was looking at a Bronco 2 the other day that has them still in good condition with all the hardware but couldn't figure out how to remove them. My 88 EB B2 has those windows and thought if I could easily get them out of the one I found at the pick a part I'd grab them to have for spares since they're not or don't seem to be very common

I've wondered about this a bit myself. I have a suspicion that you have to tear the door apart to do it, but I'm not sure. I need to do something about a couple of mine that the hardware is going

Gotta be a way to get them out, and the passenger side one on my B2 has a bit of a gap towards the bottom front of the window so trying to figure out how to get them out so I can do a bit of seal replacement.

IIRC there is a bolt at the bottom of the door accessed by removing the inner panel. As well there are screws elsewhere in the channel. it's been many years sorry for the lack of detail. have to remove the roll-up window too?

Sounds like not very common to remove these windows LOL.

I'll try and figure it out I guess and if I figure out how I'll post back the results. I don't like going into this type of stuff blind as that glass isn't cheap to replace if you make a mistake LOL.

There are 2-3 screws underneath the weather strip on the door that need to be removed as well as one bolt about halfway down the door from the window channel part of it. It is recommended that you remove the main window while removing and installing these as you have to pull the vent windows back then up. If you do end up doing this any time soon, could you by chance measure the width of the door window for me? I need the measurements for my vent windows.

Yeah if I can get over and figure out the locations of the screws and such I'll get measurements. Do you need the main window size or the vent window?

I thought about doing this a long time ago...I'd prefer to just swap the whole door instead...but that's just me being lazy and uncreative...:)

The width of the actual window itself is 24". Found an 84 b2 this morning that the whole interior was already gutted out of it, made measuring pretty easy.

Didn't get a chance to mess with the vent window at all. Still pretty icy over in the yard and ended up falling and tried to catch myself and found the sharpest piece on a car to grab hold of and cut the hell out of my hand...pretty much ended my day :(.

Thanks for the measurements.

How bad did you cut your hand? Hope stitches weren't involved.

Looks worse than it really is, got it all cleaned up disenfected and a bandage put on it wrapped with tape, such a weird location that just a bandage alone wouldn't stay on. Scared the hell out of the guys in the office though LOL went in bleeding all over the place.

Kind of a crappy weekend its been raining off and on, got the part swapped out, got a carb for a friend and measured the window. just got back in the truck and it started pouring down rain/hailing so headed back home. Want to get over on a nice day that I'm not limited for time and weather and mess with one of those vent windows to see if I can get them out easily, plus take pictures of the rear wiper setup and try and get a rear wiper motor out for my B2. I need to repair the rear defrost grid on my B2 as well, I have a kit but I've never done it before so that should be interesting.

Is the rear defrost stock or did you add it? Been thinking of adding rear defrost in my ranger
