Most times problems are from the simplest issues :icon_thumby:

I tightened down the 42 pin connector bolt and the battery terminal clamps. It cranks, a couple cylinders fire while the starter is turning but not enough to keep it running after the key is released. It sounds like the remaining cylinders are not firing or not firing in order. I will double check my coil/plug wire orientation.

Yep, I think we are about there. Just need an hour or two so I can chase down the last few trouble spots. It should be ready for the official test start on Tuesday afternoon. If all goes well I hope to let it run for a minute or so. It still has open headers so I don't really want to run it for an extended time.

You'll need to do a proper breakin, don't forget this...

Yes, I thought about doing it on Tuesday if we get it up and running but I really don't want to run it very long without exhaust. The Torque Monster Headers are pretty short. It is going out for exhaust after the first of the year and I do have that nice start up tune ready and waiting. Seems like it was set with a 1400 RPM idle.

I checked all the plug wires and they are installed correctly. I pulled a spark plug and it is now wet with fuel. The engine will crank, fire a couple cylinders and then crank a little more until the key is released. It sounds like a timing issue. It wants to start, the same couple cylinders fire off and then nothing.

This is the first attempt at getting it to run under its own power. It does not run well but it does run!

I have several codes popping up already,

P0135
P0155
P0176
P0708
P0743

A couple auto trans related codes, a couple o2 sensor codes, and a flex fuel code.

Ok, Ok, on with the video, just remember, this is the first start and it does have open headers and no o2 sensors!

I will not have any time to work on the truck until after the Christmas holiday. However, if any of you have any comments or suggestions on what might help with the rough running of the engine please feel free to reply. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My son and I decided to set the balancer at “true” TDC and not the “0” mark on the balancer for TDC. At the same time we went ahead and moved the cam sensor/synchro one tooth and realigned. The truck has run four times for approximately 40 seconds each time. I am trying to keep the exhaust/head temperature down until I have an exhaust system installed. It has not yet been brought up to operating temp. It has good oil pressure and good fuel pressure.
