Well started a new project after busting up my motor for another project. Found this 1991 Ranger for $700. It has 67,000 original miles, dana 35/4.10, 8.8/4.10, bw1354e, m5od, 4.0, in need of some bodywork, and one of the dumbest shifters ever. Every time I shift into 1st I punch the steering wheel. Motor was regasketed 10,000 miles ago. The story behind the truck is the guy let it sit in his driveway until his son could drive it. The son’s idea was to make a ranger rat rod of it and slam it with airbags. Note the tiny baby tires that are on it. It’s amazing that everything is still really clean and new looking except the body. Future projects for this rig are dana 30 swap (since I already have it from the other project), bumpers, sliders, 4.88 gears/lockers, explorer springs, belltech shackles, bodywork/paint (which I have started on already).

The Dana 30 that is already built up:

The upper arms:

GM ¾ ton steering

What it looks like on the other project:

Been doing some work on the truck lately. Started swapping axles out after my slave cylinder decided to give. Big shock I know. Also traded my bed with another member so I could have one without rot. Right now I call it rainbow bright. Oh well. Oh and broke the new push rod for the clutch master cylinder.

I can honestly say I'm excited to see work start on this! I see you ditched the other tires and rims haha. I think it looks a lot better with those. Did you ever find a new shifter for it?

Not yet on the shifter. I think I will end up building a new one that's more my style. Debating on the Dana 30 and Dana 35 right now. I kinda want to do extended radius arms and make this truck a clean trail truck to go camping in and running on dirt trails with minimal rock action. Since I was only doing the Dana 30 for the duratec to fit. Now that I don't have that motor I wish I would have never sold my already set up Dana 35.

But I did get somethings done tonight with the 2 hours I had. Found a sawsall takes the heads off the rivets quicker than a + in the head and a chisel. Took about 30 seconds each head. So tonight off came the coil buckets, radius arm cross member, and rear mount for the front axle.

Got the Dana 30 under the truck and placed. Just have to weld up a transmission cross member, brakelines, move coil mount on the axle, track bar, and the top steering. Still have a lot to do. But I'm getting there.

They are the lift springs for my 4" ttb lift. I also set them up for my 5.5" Rubicon express xj coils too.
