Long time reader. First time poster. Big shout out to the guys that run and frequent this forum. You've saved me tens of thousands of dollars over the years with my Rangers. This time I need help with a solution I cannot find in the archives and cannot figure out on my own.

I recently bought a cheap 2005 ranger 2wd single cab 4cyl and swapped the front clip and bed onto my rusty 1994 B4000 extended cab 4x4 as its lifted, low miles, built axles etc... I successfully wired up the new lights and 3 bulb to 2 bulb conversion works splendidly on the 94 frankenranger. It is not the vehicle I need assistance with at this time.

I have also put the Mazda body on the 2005 and plan to sell but am having trouble with the dash cluster and turn signals all flashing at normal speed when either direction is selected with lights off and all filaments illuminating but not flashing when direction selected and lights on.

Rear: I swapped the bed connector plugs from each vehicle with the beds. I then rewired the amber turn signal wire directly to the major wire of the driving/brake bulb in the assumption that eliminating the independent turn signal would allow the system to work as the 2 bulb system would normally, ie handling brake/marker/turn all through one socket.

Front: I've wired the b4000 corners as the turn signals and hidden the secondary turn bulbs under the hood as there is no housing for them in this application.

I've checked and cleaned the under hood ground on passenger fender. Fuses good. I assume flasher is good as they do ALL flash when the lights are in off position. Multi switch worked fine before swap.

This happens on the front signals even when I disconnect the bed harness plug.

Head lights, reverse, brake, marker, and plate lights all work as they should.

Truck has factory tow plug.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I wonder if there's a difference in the multi-function switch wiring between the 94 and 05 years. What happens when you remove the hazard flasher and try the turn signals?

Update: I'm a dummy and wired the single filament corners to both marker and signal wires. Disconnected the marker leads and now signals function properly only fast. Not sure why, but don't really care.

At least that's an easy fix. Glad you found it.
