Been awhile since I've posted on this forum with my Old 4.0 Ranger Prerunner. I had to re-register since.

So I just inherited an 88' Bronco 2 from my step mom. It was her High school car and every Niece and Nephew asked to have it because its just been sitting there. But I was the lucky winner!!! Maybe because I didn't beg her and she knew I would take care of it rather then some kid who would most likely forget to check the Oil and blow the engine! She bought a New Mustang and didn't have the space for the B2 so she said I could have it as long as I don't Sell it or Give it away. Nooo Problem!!!

Its an 88' with a recently Rebuilt engine. Interior is great! Only down side is the Automatic 4wd engagement, which has never been in 4wd through its whole life span. So Im sure I have my work cut out for me.

This is my first B2 but I have built a few Ranger 4.0 Desert Prerunners. So I will definitely be doing some decent changes to make it Beach and desert worthy.

Heres my 88 B2. It has a rebuilt engine a few years ago.

Im not going to build it crazy like the rest of my builds but just to give you an idea of a few previous 2wd Ranger builds :icon_welder:

Now for the first Problem that Im not too familiar with, NO AC!
Its still summer time here in Cali and have been in the 90's, sucks not having AC.

My pops had the AC pump swapped out a few years ago and the receipt sayd it was filled with R134. I had a DIY Charger and Can that I thought I'd give a try to see if I can get some coolness out of the system but it doesn't seem to be taking the freon.
I stop at Pep Boys to pick up the R12-R134 adapter because it didn't have one on the valves.

First time playing with AC charging so Im not sure what the readings are telling me.
Heres a video.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You might as well go through the whole ac system seals and all but if you don't make sure you put some ( I believe it's called ) pag oil in the system I can't remember the specifics but there has to be oil in the system for the compressor
