Dude, it looks awesome. Love the wheels. Great cab. Always nice to find a donor vehicle that doesn't need bodywork or paint. The only other thing I can say is, u really need a 4.0. U'll love it.

I like what you've done so far. I wish you'd write some notes beside your pictures so I know what your thinking/doing/planning. For example, there's some pics of what I assume is a crossmember with some risers for cab mounts but they could also be for your flat bed:icon_confused:. Any ways, nice build, keep it coming.

Yea the thing that was built was for the back cab mounts. they are different on the ranger and bronco 2 so i copied maverick's design. the flatbeds kind of hoakie they way its mounted so i dont realy want to get into showing that off.

The wheels are off a newer ranger. I had the centers honed out to clear the manuel hubs. I got the tires for free and got those wheels cheap to fit the tires so thats what im running. I also have an exploder 8.8 with disks thatll go in it with a locker when the 7five blows up. and i might just have to weld the seven five up

2.9 is a waste of time man, youll never regret a 4.0, and you have the perfect bII for the swap... plug and play man...

I just have to find a donor and itll be a weekend job. Would really like to get this thing on the road first. just need a drop pitman arm and alignment. A few other things have to get buttoned up to but its a blast to drive. Will get more picks up soon.

You will spend more money trying to build a 2.9 than swappin in a used 4.0, and still have less power. If you could test drive a B2 w a 4.0, you would see my point.

Plug and play makes it sound so easy..... Its not bad, I had to do a little splicing w taillights and blower motor. But we ripped out the old harness, and used the donor harness.

Therefore, I don't like the term plug and play. The entire vehicle was essentially rewired. Then it was plugged in and started playing. Plug and play denotes that you take the old engine out, and plug the new one in. It wasn't like that. Kinda, but not exactly.

I will be doing this again in my other B2, just gotta find the right donor.

Ok I've got a lock on a 4.0 with computer but not harness. 90,000 miles out of 94 explorer for $150. How prevalent are the harnesses? All I need is the engine harness if anyone has one to sell or give :)

Check w snoopdoggie, I think he has some extra explorers. Get the entire harness. All the way back to the taillights. Make sure the computer matches ur tranny. the power distribution block and so forth. Read up on it in the tech library, ton of useful info.
