I've got a '94 Ranger 4.0 2wd, short bed standard cab, and I'm noticing a rather seriously limited range of budget exhaust systems that claim compatibility with my truck. What I'm wondering is what other years/trims would be either directly compatible (I know the cab got a couple inches longer in one year, etc) or close enough to be either used as-is, or with minor modifications to the exhaust itself, or the hangers. 
Also, would the pacesetter headers meant for this year bolt to the stock cat very well? Could I possibly run much newer headers, match them with a newer exhaust, and call it done? My understanding is that the gas tank pretty much never left where it is, and the transmissions don't vary a whole lot, making me think it might be possible.
Any ideas (diagrams/pics, etc wouldn't hurt) greatly appreciated.
