Removing a stuck rear ABS sensor

My 1995 ranger's ABS doesn't engage... no ABS light either.

I'm wanting to check the speed sensor... but after unbolting it from the differential housing the o ring seems to be hanging up... I can wiggle the sensor in the hole but i can't get the sensor out.

Suggestions?

Ps... the sensor measured as bad (1.1k ohms) while mounted. Time for a new sensor?
