I always wanted to try a 3.8 V6 in a ranger. They had some bitchin heads on those things. A shame they never made a V8 version :bawling:
If by "bitchin" you mean "warps easily then yes, the 3.8 heads were "bitchin". That was easily one of Ford's worst engines.

I heard somewhere you could do that with the Mazda rotories. Never been around one to confirm.
You'd have to swap out the rotor, but I mean, yeah, you probably can.

They are just a 302 with 2 cylinders cut off. :icon_twisted:
I heard they were an attempt at reverse engineering the Chevy 3.8, but that they screwed the pooch and made a steaming pile on the floor.

The urban myth is they are to the 302 like the 4.3 is to the 350 Chevy.

I high school (90's) my buddy had a s-10 with a cadilac 3.8 v6. it was faster than most s-10's, but slower than the 4.3. he also had the bed filled with speakers and amps and a snugtop camper shell in his.

The heads aren't. They're far superior to any SBF head aside from the Boss heads.
No, they are nothing like a 302 aside from the math working out to be 3/4 the displacement of a 302.

Bore, stroke... basically everything but the bellhousing boltpattern is different.

Screw that. I want add a bank kits instead. Turn your I 4 into a V8.
Or, you could add two banks and make a W-12 ( kinda )
