Hello I recently purchased my old high school truck back it's a 1995 4x4. The previous owner wasn't very kind to the old girl and I'm trying to bring her back to life. The front axle seals are leaking and it needs ball joints so I started to text it down. I was wondering how often do you change the bearing inside of the hub spindle or how do I tell if there still in good condition. Thank you very much

I assume this is regarding the needle bearing at the rear of the wheel spindle? (supports the 4WD axle shaft)? If so, look for signs of rust and/or pitting.
If heavy pitting and any roughness is found, replace it (also check the bearing surface on the shaft for roughness as well). Very light pitting or discoloration is usually tolerable if there's no roughness in it.
