im doing a 302 swap in my 94 ranger, just had a couple questions. im getting a 302 shortblock out of a mustang and tranny and transfer case out of an f-150. im doing carburated so i dont have to screw with wiring, is the f-150 transfer case on the same side as the stock ranger one? if not any idea's on what i should do?

Ford t-cases are driver side front output. What transmission are you using? As far as t-case I always recommend the NP 205 or 208 because of their size. Some have installed the newer BW1356 but you will be notching the lower edge of your frame rail to get it to fit. The stock ranger one won't bolt up though. Any fullsize t-case uses the same pattern.

Only two options out there, the 1/2 ton M5ODR2 and the 3/4 to 1 ton ZF. The 1/2 ton is fine by all means and the most logical. The ZF is rather large to be honest, body lift pretty much required if you don't want to cut up your floor. There are 3 different older 4 speeds, to pick from as well. FYI the ZF can be hard to find and expensive being most had automatics or a big block, you need one that was mated to a 351.

Ya the 1/2 ton 5 speed will be more than enough for you.

As stated ALL ford t cases are driver side drop. And 208's are junk so go 205 or 1356. And with 1356 you have to notch a small notch in the frame like projectnitemare stated.
