So I had to replace the neutral safety switch on my '03 Ranger (4.0 4x4). The nut holding the shift lever to the transmission (with the switch in between) was so rusted on the shaft I had to use a nut breaker to get it off. Now I need to get a new nut but having some trouble finding what size I need. The old nut is pretty mangled. Can't seem to find reference to the size online. Best guess would be 5/8 fine thread. No one local had anything close

Any one happen to know what size it is?

UPDATE:
In case anyone is looking for this in the future, I did finally find out what nut this is. It's an M14x1.0 jam nut. Pretty much impossible to find at the usual places (auto parts stores, hardware stores, etc.). Even Ford dealers don't seem to stock this. I finally found a shop in Florida who had one and it's on the way Priority Mail.

The part number, found on a parts diagram in the 5R55E transmission service manual:
W701271S309

But Ford seems to have updated this parts # to:
W703001

Ford's description is:
NUT - M14 X 1 - ATTACHES (7A115 TO 7C493), ID: A70.20 - AUTOMATIC TRANS. - 5R55E - 5 SPEED O/D.
