Will an 8.8 rear end/axle/differential, locker, from a 94 Explorer bolt right up to my 93 Ranger XLT, which has the 7.5 rear end? Mostly concerned about hangers, shock brackets, etc...don't want to have to modify the beast if it's not a direct swap. Is the driveshaft connection the same...bolts up to the yoke?

Not a direct swap. The Explorer axle sits over the springs and it's shock tabs are part of the lower spring plate.

The Ranger has the springs sit on top of the axle and the shock tabs are welded to the tubes.

The drive shaft connection is correct though.

Bummer...how 'bout an 8.8" rear end out of a 2000 Ranger? Spring perches and shock hangers in the same place as my 93?

Yup. The Ranger axle will work fine.
