so this is my first post on the ranger station!
i recently bought a 2000 ford ranger sport 3.0L 4x4 when i bought it the front drivers side wheel bearing/hub assembly had completely failed (i had to have it towed) and the front drive shaft was also taken off (needed rebuilt) i got it back in my garage and put a brand new hub assembly in. i purchased the non-vacuum hub (i think its what it takes) and installed it. porblem solved, it drove like a champ (in 2WD that is...)today i rebuilt the whole front drive shaft (CV & U-joint) and installed it. for the first time i engaged the 4x4. as soon as i started moving the front driver side hub started banging loudly, it shook the truck and sounded terrible. ![]() obviously there is some issue with the hub. i'm not sure where to start though. if i installed it wrong, wouldn't the truck drive funny? a little advice and maybe some ideas would be great! Thanks fellas! ~Nate |
