My brother also reported that when he lived in Denver he got significantly better fuel mileage with his 99 Ranger 4x4 3.0 than he did living in MN.
I won't be moving there anytime soon... I'm guessing the reason is the air is much less oxygen rich requiring less fuel to reach stochiometric ratio required for optimal combustion.
in my dakota i have a 22 gallon tank but when i fill up from E, i get 15-16 gallons. so at any given time there's always at least 6-7 gallons in the tank.
