Crankshaft dampener bolt

Is this bolt a reverse thread? I went at it with my impact with no luck. Wanted to be sure I'm not turning the wrong way. Three manuals, zero help.

Used same bolt for 2.9l so should be regular thread not reversed

It ain't stuck till it don't move
I hate these things. The best way ibe found to get them off if it's a stick is to put it in high gear, set the parking brace and chock the tires, to keep the crankshaft from turning, then use a breaker bar. With automatic transmission I usually put the breaker bar on the bolt, turn it to the right until it's wedged against the frame, then bump the starter. There are several reasons that could be a bad idea, but I've never hurt anything doing it that way, I'm really careful though.

It came right out with the impact the next try. I guess I just went too easy on it worrying that it was reverse threaded. Better that than a stripped crankshaft though.

Timing chains are for suckers.

I think this is kind of a neat setup, I wonder why they're not used more frequently.

Exactly what I was thinking. Especially with all the issues with chains you would think engineering would gravitate towards this.
