so i scored the whole top end of a 4.0 ohv with 60k miles on it, for 100 bucks. i got all 6 injectors. there red (dont know if this makes a difference) they are the only part of the fuel system i havent replaced (that i know of)

my fuel pressure regulator was clogged up with black gunk last year when i replaced it, so ive been debating swapping out the injectors. the truck runs great, but when i run fuel injector cleaner through it, it seems to run better. also if i dont run it through every few months it will develop a miss. i can hear it but its only very slight. ( i run a straight pipe)

^^this could also be because i only use it for the mountains and it just sits for months at a time.

so im not sure if it would be a great idea to swap out the injectors. the current ones are past 300k miles, so im sure it couldnt hurt.

Are you running a fuel filter on this truck? Sounds to me that fuel system contamination is of primary concern. Replacing injectors isn't going to cure a dirty fuel system. Stabil will help with your fuel when it's sits.

yeah, i replaced the filter right after i got it. and ive only put like 2000 miles on it since then. im not sure what the deal was with the black gunk, i havent seen it any where else.

when i swapped the fuel pump there was sand and crap in the bottom of the tank, also the truck came from a junkyard. from time to time the owner would put the bad mixxed gas (from rigs that came in with fuel in them) in it if he was short on cash.
