What is the top speed I can run in 4 high? This will be my first winter with this truck. If it snows and I need to hit the hwy I want to run it in 4wd.

Lol I had mine at 90 down the 1/4 mile drag strip and will be going faster next year haha. 40 is probably tops in 4x4 if your going that fast in the snow you can probably go in 2 wheel

I would leave the hubs locked in and run in 2wd until I needed 4x4.

Yes ^^^^

There is a reason most of the cars in the ditch are 4WD, 4WD at highway speeds on slippery roads is no benefit, people who think it is now need a tow truck :)

4WD doesn't mean better friction just better traction.
A 4WD doesn't stop any better than a 2WD on slippery roads, that's friction.

A 4WD can get started better and pull itself around corners better than RWD at slower speeds, that's traction, FWD it almost as good as 4WD in these situations, almost being the key word, lol.

The speed won't bother the transfer case, if that's what you are asking

I agree with RonD, more people get in accidents with 4x4 at freeway speeds because they think it will help steer....it doesn't! Don't use 4x4 at highway speeds until you are forced to slow down by accumalation of snow, and then only if your ass end is sliding out sideways on light acceleration.

4x4 only helps you steer in the snow when you are under power.

coasting (in gear) it reduces or eliminates steering control, this is what trips people up and puts them into the ditch
