Finally got a 90 b2
Found it by complete accident a nice clean non molested truck. It appears to be all stock other than a nice shiney aluminum radiator. Not even a speck of rust anywhere on the vehicle. Best part only paid $700.00 !
Runs a little rough and pops out of reverse but not worried about all that.
The question I have is what is the difference in suspension between the b2 and a ranger? I've had many rangers and all of the 4wd rangers have a block in the rear but this b2 doesn't have any and it's not sagging in the rear at all. I'll try and post some pictures a little later.

Congrats on the new ride. A running B2 for $700.00 is a bargain. When I was scouring the western US for my current 89, $700 would buy a clapped out POS with a dead A4LD! I went as far as Pocatella, ID, finally (after 8 months) finding mine in SLC.

Oh, you lucky little...

I bought mine for 600, non-running. Been going through and fixing everything the PO did to it.

As far as suspension? I'm not absolutely sure, but I've found most of the components are shared with the Rangers with the same axles and years. So, a D28 and 7.5 axle Ranger of the same year will have the same equipment as your B2 of the same year. I don't know about the D35 Rangers, but it seems like it's a direct drop in for the 28 on B2's (or near enough to it), so maybe the same there too.

I'm sure someone will correct me if that's wrong!

Thanks
I was actually looking for something cheap to use as a temporary daily driver while I was doing a 5.0 swap in the ranger. I already have all the parts including a 89 mustang ft sitting in storage. I'm going to try and get the b2 running a little better this weekend. If it doesn't work out its going to get the 5.0 !

Well had a chance to do a little tinkering yesterday, and found a bad fuel pressure regulator. Picking it up today. Should be running like a champ after that.

The good
New rear springs
New shocks all around
New aluminum radiator and hoses
New power steering hoses and pump
Dana 35 with 3.73
Manual transfer case
New plugs and wires
A/c works
All power windows and locks work
Found owners manual in glove box

The bad so far
Trans pops out of reverse and won't go into 5th at all
Handle on lift gate falls off
Passenger seat back latch seems to be screwed up

As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will put some up

My credo
Well, that didn't work. Let's try something else!
The new radiator worries me. If it's a 2.9L I'd be watching for water in the oil. Those heads don't handle overheating well.

My 89 b2 has the spring block in the rear, but I'm not sure it's stock. The rear sits higher than the front.

Nice score tho!

Spent the day cleaning the garage and decided that I'm not going to bother fixing the b2. I'm getting the mustang out of storage next weekend to start the teardown. I gave my daughter a choice of the b2 or the ranger and she said the ranger. Just make it lower! Lol
So the little bronco is getting the 5.0 and probably the axles out of the ranger. This actually works out great for me because I don't have to fix anything.

I still can't figure out how to post pics

It's been a long time but I finally got the mustang out of storage. This is definitely going to be a nice winter project. I acquired the mustang a few years ago with full intentions of it being a donor for my ranger. Found it in someone's backyard, been sitting there for 10 years. So now we have a nice fresh 306 with dart pro heads and a tfs stage 2 cam. And I absolutely hate the car. So it's coming apart. Obviously have to change the cam but it's all for the better of the b2.

Long time ago I started this project and time just hasn't been on my side. Finally making a little progress though. The b2 is unburied in the garage and pretty much disassembled.
After 2 years of sitting in the garage everything was completely scattered and buried.
This one is getting the 5.0, m5r2 and either a 205 or fixed output 208, have both.
The ranger is unfortunately going to have to sacrifice a few key items for this but it's well worth it in the end.
